SAFETY FIRST and Compliance
Wallace Timber is committed to Safety First and was born from a desire to make tree surgery and forestry safer, quicker, and more efficient through mechanisation.

The primary means of achieving this goal is by using our Grapple Saw lorries, which removes much of the need for working at height. This method significantly reduces the risks involved when compared with traditional rope and harness work using chainsaws.

Our commitment for providing a safe and healthy workplace for both our colleagues and clients is of paramount importance to us.
We produce comprehensive, site-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statements for all our jobs, which are briefed to everyone involved prior to commencement of any works. By ensuring the whole team understands and strictly adheres to the requirements of both these documents when performing their roles and responsibilities on site, we greatly reduce the risk factors involved.
Our Health and Safety policy is regularly updated, as are our Risk Assessment and Method Statements – all of which are available upon request.
We have achieved CHAS accreditation to reassure you that we have a fully approved Health and Safety system in place to manage and control our works.

All our operators undergo rigorous ongoing training (both in-house and externally) to maintain our Safety and Compliance levels to the latest and highest standard.
All lifting equipment is routinely examined and tested by an external specialist in accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment regulations 1998 (LOLER).
To ensure your complete peace of mind we are fully insured with £10,000,000 Public and Employers Liability insurance.
Lastly, not only do we care about our clients, but the welfare and safety of your trees is of importance to us too!
We ensure all tree work is undertaken sympathetically and complies with British Standards guidance & recommendations Issue no. BS3998:2010.
